Where Writing, Thinking, and Teaching Meet.

Grounded in deep English pedagogical expertise and informed by evidence-based contemporary research, Writing with Finesse aims to support teachers in explicitly teaching perceptive writing skills. It does this by modelling, co-constructing and scaffolding sentences, paragraphs, and extended responses. This results in students learning how to shape, develop and communicate their ideas and interpretations with precision and purpose. By elevating students' writing skills and enabling them to use vocabulary to express their conceptual thinking, we can foster whole-school cultures of writing and academic excellence.

A woman with blonde hair is sitting at a wooden desk in a room with green walls, writing in a notebook with a black pen. She is dressed in a black blazer and black blouse, and is wearing earrings. The room features a window with green curtains, a bookshelf filled with books, a large world map, and a vintage clock in the background. There is a gold desk lamp on the left side of the desk.

Teaching Writing as Thinking

Our work targets intellectual quality through explicit evidence-informed writing instruction. We begin from a simple truth: writing is one of the most complex skills students are asked to master, and excellence in writing is not accidental, it is taught. Drawing on extensive classroom, faculty, and whole-school leadership experience, we have designed comprehensive teacher and student resources that respond directly to current school contexts, data, and priorities.

Our Writing with Finesse Vision

Confident teachers, thinking writers, and classrooms characterised by high challenge, high support, and high intellectual demand.
